Revision as of 00:48, 1 October 2005

The only Creatures series title released for the Macintosh was the original Creatures itself, and does not run on modern Mac machines - it only works on Power Macintoshes running System 7 or Mac OS 8 - this means it will NOT run in Mac OS X's 'Classic' mode, which runs Mac OS 9. The port was of a low quality and suffered from many bugs.

An in-house port of Creatures 2 was started by Cyberlife Technology, but never completed.

openc2e runs on Mac OS X.

The Mac rights to Creatures 3 were bought by Cognition Games in early 2003, a month before Creature Labs went into liquidation. It was ported to Mac OS X by Broadsword Interactive but due to the port overrunning and lack of money it did not get completed.

At the start of 2005, Kutoka Interactive offered to complete the port and distribute the title, which was rebranded Creatures Exodus, in North America, and port Creatures Village to the Mac too. This deal was announced on 19 May 2005 at E3 (more info).

The titles are now available for ordering online (French Canada, North America) and in retail stores beginning from the 30th of September 2005.
