Talk:Transgendered Norn
I recommend we rename this page to Transgender Norn and revise all other mentions. The word "transgendered" is strongly dispreferred or considered offensive by a lot of trans people, while "transgender" is often quite standard. While the old name is still in use on many sites, the new name might as well be canon too, since the creator uses it on this page for example. Muppetboy, if you're reading this, feel free to mention what you'd prefer to do, assuming it's coming from a pro-trans place.
If we link to pages that use the old name, or there's a really good reason to keep it on the wiki, I recommend this page still acknowledge that there might be offensive terminology ahead. Maybe with a note at the top of the page. There was originally "(sic)" after the name, which was supposed to do that, but it was kind of ambiguous, and got removed in this edit. Transgender is a form of gender, Transgendered is an adjective version of the SAME word when applied to something else, in this case a breed of norn.

While I wouldn't personally consider 'transgendered' offensive (can only speak for myself, not all trans people), where I am, it was considered outdated at least a decade ago, and I could see someone being upset to see it, so I think a move is worth considering. LGBT organizations do not currently use it, and style guides recommend using 'transgender' as the adjective form and avoiding 'transgendered' - see the guides of GLAAD, HRC, AP, PP, etc. Allekha 23:04, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
That's so strange, I've not heard of that, it's only a two letter difference after all!
