The Emergency Kit, or Backup Kit, provided with Creatures and Creatures 2 could be used to start a brand new world in the event the the old one failed to work correctly, or if the player simply decided to start off with a new world again. In Creatures it could also be used to restore the egg disk or replenish stocks of objects.
In GOG.com's GOG Creatures Collection and the Steam releases, the features of the Emergency Kits are largely bundled into the games, and so they aren't included.
